Corvette Invasion Returns to Bastrop in 2021
In 2019, hundreds of Corvettes from 18 different states came to Bastrop for the annual Corvette Invasion which had a 250k dollar impact on the local economy over the weekend. While Covid forbid the event from taking place in 2020, Shawn Jones with SRE Promotions is bring the Invasion back to Bastrop on July 16th-18th, 2021.
Corvette Invasion, the largest Corvette Car Show in Texas, is a weekend-long event, which includes, a car show at the Bastrop Convention Center, live Music by the Clutch Kings and parade laps on the Formula One Track at Circuit of the Americas.
Event promoter and show originator, Shawn Jones, said, "We as Corvette enthusiast love coming to Bastrop, everyone is so welcoming and friendly to us while we are in town"
Corvette Invasion, which started in Austin, Texas in 2013, originated when Steve Pond of Houston contacted Shawn Jones of Austin and discussed getting their corvette clubs together for dinner. Shawn organized the event at the local restaurant on Lake Travis.
Shawn Jones said, "What started as a simple dinner party among two corvette clubs has now grown to be the Largest Corvette Car Show in the state of Texas" In only a few years, the event had tripled in size and continues to grow.
This year’s sponsors include Visit Bastrop, Classic Bank of Bastrop, Bastrop Photography, US Health Advisors, MyPlates, Capitol Chevrolet, Authentic Details, AGCI Construction, Vette Lights and XPEL. There are sponsorship spots and vendor booth spaces still available for the event.
There is no charge for the public for the Corvette Invasion Car Show on Saturday July 17 from 9:00 am-1:00 pm. Awards will start at by 1:00 pm. Registration information is available on the website www.corvetteinvasion.com
