Bastrop County Business Owner’s Association Offers Free Membership

The Bastrop County Business Owner’s Association (BCBOA) is a socioeconomic group whose goal is to create events and opportunities for Bastrop County businesses to highlight their business and services to one another, and the community at large.

The BCBOA holds marketing mixers every other week and is currently holding in-person mixers at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Bastrop. Membership is always free and anyone interested in doing business in Bastrop County may join.

BCBOA member, Amberley Palmer, with Classic Bank said, “I think the BCBOA is extremely helpful in marketing your business. It’s a fresh new outlet and I would highly recommend that if you haven’t already joined, that you do so.”

The BCBOA facilitates many yearly events including the Bastrop County Bridal Extravaganza, The Heart of Bastrop Business Expo, The Wellness Fair, The Senior Expo, A Halloween Carnival, Countywide Pajama Party, and The Christmas Market & Fair. In 2022, the BCBOA will add two major events to it‘s yearly calendar; Texas Style Mardi Gras and The Buyers & Builders Expo. Local business owners can be involved in, and become a sponsor of, any of the yearly events.

“We expect to make Mardi Gras a yearly celebration with a Texas style flare. You may find some Bar-B-Que mixed in with the crawfish and the gumbo. We are planning a parade, musical talent, street dance, cooking contests, and a lot more. There will even be a King and Queen contest and a Masquerade Ball! Events like this just add even more tourism exposure for Bastrop County and the incredible businesses that the County has to offer.” -T.J. Johnson Finn.

The BCBOA also operates several websites to boost business in Bastrop County including www.thebcboa.com, www.bastropbrides.com, and www.texasstylemardigras.com. In May of 2021 the BCBOA will launch www.bastropevents.com. The new site will include an array of information on events in Bastrop county and weekly articles by Bastrop County Residents. Local residents will be able to upload their events to the events calendar. The BCBOA is currently looking for content providers for the site in exchange for advertising space.

Lisa Rose, with The Gas Station and Cult Classic said, “Everything about Bastrop and the BCBOA is phenomenal we moved from a small town outside of Cleveland Ohio and they didn’t do anything to help their local businesses and the BCBOA does. It’s all about helping small businesses grow and promoting events by and for local business owners.”
